DTV Group provided BF/VF with non-linear editing software and hardware that had been loaned to NewMedia Lab for testing and evaluation. Avid Technology and Media 100 were happy to see their beta systems made available to film schools where students could learn to edit video on their systems.

skyBuilders hosted the BF/VF website and provided web content management and publishing software, including an editable event calendar for BF/VF class schedules.

At the Fifth Annual Vision Awards ceremony in 2001, BF/VF gave Bob Doyle their Catalyst Award.
